After our training in the south and then our break in
CM we were ready to get back home, BUT a call from
our supervisor informed us otherwise. We learned of a
training that would take place then next week in Mai
Sai. We decided it made more since to just meet
everyone there instead of go back home for one day
and repack the next day. I wouldn't even be able to
get all the clothes washed and dried in that amount
of time. . .
On Tuesday morning Aleah and I joined the others at the "farm." While everyone else was in sessions we enjoyed scaring the chickens and ducks, but after 2 hours Aleah became bored with the animals and became a little too distracting to the folks in class (who were all sitting under a shed outside). So, Aleah and I went back to the hotel got washed up and went to this little Lotus (like a miniature Wal-mart). We played in the buggies that were made to look like cars so parents could actually get some shopping accomplished. We put 1 Bhat into motorized vehicles that one could drive all over the store and bump into stuff. Then we ate lunch at KFC. Thank goodness Aleah naps in the afternoon. I did too.
On Wednesday Aleah and I took a road trip and found a museum "The Hall of Opium." It ended up being a great place for Aleah to play and we had a great time. We basically had the whole place to ourselves and stayed there the whole morning. We met the team for lunch and then slept all afternoon.
For Thursday I was told by some locals to go to a cave that has monkeys. They gave me a very sketchy drawing of some roads and so off we went on another adventure. Well, we never did find the cave. Instead I followed some signs that were in English to the Royal Gardens - A project started by the Queen Mother. Again another successful outing playing in the water, chasing butterflies, and picking flowers. We joined the group for lunch and then wouldn't you know it, slept all afternoon : )
After a month of travels we finally arrived back home! Home Sweet Home.
