Happy Birthday
Monday August 18, 2008 Filed in: Life as we know
it
Aleah turned 2 years old this month. We celebrated by
taking cup cakes and a bubble machine to her school.
I also brought along my friend, Nuey, to help me
translate the prayer and some special words I had
prepared. The children were so excited when they saw
the cup cakes, but they sat like angels in a circle
around Aleah waiting patiently for their piece.
As soon as I began to pray for Aleah, a man began to drill in the back room. This noise lasted the entire prayer and as soon as my friend translated the prayer and said "amen" the drilling stopped. We just smiled at each other and were reminded that we are in the enemy's territory, even at 2 year old's birthday party.
The bubble machine was a great hit!! And so was Blake. . .
